Crab Hall - An annexe of Bagdale Hall with free on-site parking and close to Whitby attractions
Crab Hall, an annexe of the historic Bagdale Hall, offers rooms with private bathrooms and free WiFi. Each room includes a tea and coffee maker, TV, and wardrobe; some rooms feature four-poster beds. The hotel's restaurant serves lunch, and the bar stocks wine and champagne. A breakfast with positive reviews is included in the stay at Crab Hall. The hotel provides free parking, outdoor furniture, and bicycle parking. Express check-in/check-out, private check-in/check-out, and luggage storage are available. Daily housekeeping is conducted. Whitby Beach is less than 1 km away, Whitby Abbey a 13-minute walk, and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum 600 metres from the hotel. The bus terminus and railway station are within a few minutes' walk from Crab Hall.
Pros
The associated Bagdale Hall features a characterful dining area with a historic fireplace.
A small beer garden is available for hotel guests.
Staff are consistently described as polite and helpful.
Cons
The rooms in the Crab Hall annexe are more basic and lack the historic atmosphere of the main Bagdale Hall building.
On-site parking spaces can be tight for larger vehicles.
“The historic main building, with its beautiful fireplaces and beamed ceilings, immediately captures your attention, and this sense of authentic character extends to the friendly staff. While rooms in the annex can be a little spartan, the main hall's embrace and the prime location near the harbour and transport links are undeniable draws. Free parking is a thoughtful bonus for this central Whitby base.”
